Ecofabric Hi. If you want orginal designer goodies that are made without stuffing up the planet for the generations to come, you are in the right place. I'm Anthea Grob and I design fabrics, clothing and homeware. It's all 'cradle to cradle eco' so our personal legacy can be a world with the variety, beauty, and safety, we found it in. Yet still have the authenticly original, luscious goodies that reflect and celebrate our stylish vibrant selves.
Latest Focus Products are created in series—lately it's cushions. Think how they add 'zhush' to a room by their colour, texture and comfort, or imagine treating yourself to a good read snuggled up with a new one.
Ecofabric items are made carefully, more often then not slowly, with the intention to delight. As well, everything is made thinking of living within nature not apart from her, with 'cradle to cradle' thinking, So everything is either recycled, or, designed to be easy to recycle and preferably compost returning us to live within natural cycles.
New fabrics are from 'organically' grown fibres, with printing and dying using "low environmental impact' materials. Social responsability and animal welfare are integal to organic certification codes.

The North Pacific gyre where plastic has been found that is over 50 years old.The United Nations Environmental Program now estimates that there are 46,000 floating pieces of plastic for every square mile of ocean. Some of that trash circulating the globe is 30 metres deep.
Why Ecofabric? Cotton accounts for only 2% of the world's crop but at least17% of pesticide use, of the worst kinds of pesticides those classed as HAZARDOUS1A meaning that 5 grams, ie a teaspooon, can kill you. Millions of kilos are applied annually, and they don't go away, they bioaccumulate, meaning that fish have more in them than the surronding water, when we eat the fish the pesticide acculumlates in fatty tissue (such as the breast.) Pesticides are linked to 95% of breast cancers. These pesticides don't stay put they move, down into the water table, through the oceans, they have been found in the remotest islands in the Arctic!
Each year, a million sea birds and 100,000 sharks, turtles, dolphins and whales die from eating plastic which resembles their food.
Our legacy the best legacy we can leave for the seven generations that come after us, is a world where the variety of life we inherited will be preserved. Recent science has proven that growing using synthetic fertilisers is losing us species. Unfortunately even when using low amounts it has been found there isn't a lower threshold, the upshot is that during our lifetime we are losing species at a rate that biologists are calling the sixth extinction.

OK, we might want to be "green" but it takes an effort and sometimes costs more, sometimes we need to be reminded about the effects of our purchases and habits—these links are definately convincing.
